In the aftermath of the meeting held on April 9 between Mrs Milquet, Mr Wathelet, SPF Mobilité (the administration for transport) and the civil society representatives (Bruxelles Air Libre, Pas Question !, and UBCNA), SPF Mobilité ordered an impact study on the Plan Wathelet from the Free University of Brussels (ULB) IGEAT department: Institut de Gestion de l'Environnement et de l'Aménagement du Territoire.
Their 91-page "ex post analysis of the new air procedures implemented on 6 February 2014 in the Brussels metropolitan area" (in French) produces clear and unambigous evidence of the negative effects of Plan Wathelet on Brussels.
On the day of its publication, the newspaper L'Echo published it in full, (in French) on its website, available for free public download.
Thanks to the help of our volunteers, the executive summary is available in English.
In addition, in June, the authors of the study presented their results in June to European Commission fonctionnaires. The support of this presentation can be downloaded here.
